Delhi University formerly known as Delhi University is one of the most famous and popular universities in India. The Delhi University has the rights to make changes in the fee structure.

The PwBD category students should pay an online admission fee of Rs. 12,088 and Examination fee (Semester 1&2) of Rs. 905 at the time of admission.

DU-SOL MBA Eligibility Criteria

For Indian Students

Eligibility

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum marks of 50%.

Selection Criteria

The merit list will be prepared in the following way.

Category 1

80% weightage will be given to graduation marks.

20% weightage will be given for professional work experience from any reputed Government or Private Organization  (No Objection Certificate from employer is mandatory). 

The weightage will be given as:

  • 20% for 4+ years of work experience.
  • 15% for 3+ years of work experience.
  • 10% for 2+ years of work experience.
  • 5% for 1+ years of work experience.

Weightage of graduation will be also considered for experienced professionals.

Category 2

MBBS/BDS/MD/MDS graduates having 2+ years of experience in Hospital Administration. (No Objection Certificate from employer is mandatory)

Category 3

Group A officers from Government or public organizations with bachelor’s degree in any discipline (No Objection Certificate from employer is mandatory).

Category 4

Professionals with 2+ years of work experience in Corporate Houses/Service Sector/Industry/Self-employed professionals/Hospitality and Transportation Sector (documentary evidence is mandatory).

The reservation policy will be applicable as per the rules of University of Delhi.

DU-SOL MBA Admission for Session 2024

Step 1: Online Registration

Candidates can register for their course through DU-SOL website ( https://sol.du.ac.in/ ) by filling out the registration form with a fee of Rs. 250 for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS categories, and Rs. 100 for SC/ST/PwBD categories.

Step 2: Submission of essential documents

  • Recently taken photograph, and signature.
  • Class X mark sheet (self-attested copy)
  • Class XII mark sheet (self-attested copy)
  • Graduation mark sheet (self-attested copy)
  • Experience Certificate from employer (If applicable)
  • No Objection Certificate from the employer (If applicable)

Additional documents required:

  • Reservation Certificate: Candidates who belong to OBC/SC/ST/EWS category should submit a self-attested copy of the caste certificate and PwBD category candidates should submit disability certificate with 25 minimum of 40% disability issued by any Government Hospital
  • The certificate should be issued before the date of admission
  • Income Certificate (original) should be submitted if applying for fee concession/financial assistance.
  • AAY ration card (self-attested copy) for financial assistance.

Step 3: Verification and Confirmation

The merit list for the admission will be displayed in the official website of DU-School of Open Learning ( https://sol.du.ac.in/ ) after verification of the documents by the university.

DU-SOL MBA Placements

The School of Open Learning, DU has a Placement Cell to help students to find suitable job opportunities after MBA. The university provides information about jobs through its website, SMS, notifications and links through the SOL portal. SOL arranged 17+ placement drives with several employers, and 3 mega job fairs for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD category) in which students from all Delhi University colleges participated and got placed.

In February 2022, Placement Cell arranged the first job fair for PwBD candidates in collaboration with Samarthanam Trust for Disabled. Around 800 participants and 20+ companies were present. In April 2022, Placement Cell arranged the second mega job fair for PwBD candidates and regular students in which 240 participants and 23 companies were present. In May 2022, the Placement Cell organized a Placement Drive for a Business Development Executive role in Axis Bank in collaboration with NIIT Ltd. Around 800 students registered by SMS. The placement cell has organized a Mega Drive with “SUD” in January 2023 at SOL West Regional Center, Campus of Open Learning, Keshav Puram, Delhi. “SUD” is a joint venture of Union Bank of India & Daiichi Life. In February 2023, Placement Cell organized another mega job fair for PwBD candidates.

The placement cell also conducts workshops, seminars, and internship opportunities for students. The placement cell is continuously increasing its connections with corporate companies all over the world.

DU-SOL MBA Reviews

The Delhi University School of Open Learning (DU-SOL) is a well-known distance education institute in Delhi. The institute started enrolling students in 1962 and have expanded a lot by providing high-quality affordable education to the students all over the world. DU-SOL MBA Examination Pattern

Instructions will be given in only English language.

The examination centre will be in Delhi.

Each exam consists of 100 marks of which 70 marks are allocated for the semester-end examination and 30 marks for internal assessment.

Duration of examination will be 3 hours.

Pass Percentage

The minimum marks needed to pass the semester-end exams are 40% aggregate and a minimum of 40% in each paper.

Promotion Criteria

A student should clear at least 12 out of 16 papers to get promoted to the second year. However, the student has to clear the remaining papers while studying in the second year.

The eligibility for promotion will depend on the successful completion of summer training.

Students who do not fulfill the promotion criteria will fail in the first year. But they will be given a chance to retain the grades in the papers they’ve passed.

Re-Examination

Students who have not achieved the required marks in individual papers will be given the opportunity for a re-examination. 

During Semesters 2,3 and 4, students can reappear for exams from semester 1. 

In case a student fails in semester 4, they will be granted a special chance to reappear in a maximum of two papers of 2nd year after the final semester results are declared, as notified by DDCE/SOL/COL.

Division of degree into classes

Candidates with 60% and above – First Division

Candidates with 50% – 60% – Second Division

Candidates with 40% – 50% – Third Division



The examination results will be published according to 10 point grading system. The minimum numerical grade needed to pass any course is 4, or “D” grade. A student obtaining “F” grade in any subject will be considered failed in that subject and have to appear for the re-examination

The students of SOL will get jobs in corporate sector in various job roles like Market Research Analyst, Marketing Manager, Project Manager, Consultant and many more. Students can also apply for government exams like UPSC, SSC, CDS, etc. The MBA degree will make the students equally eligible to regular degree holders to apply for any jobs or education.
