Acharya Nagarjuna University was established in Andhra Pradesh in 1976 by Shri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, the then President of India. The university is named after the great philosopher Acharya Nagarjuna, one of the greatest thinkers in the history of Asian philosophy. The university is situated in the same place where Nagarjuna was born and brought up. The purity of the land where Acharya Nagarjuna lived gives spiritual strength and clarity of understanding to the learners who receive the education.
