Calicut University/University of Calicut was established in 1968 at Malappuram, Kerala. The university is Kerala’s largest in terms of territory, associated colleges, and degrees awarded. The university’s motto is “Nirmaya Karmana Sree,” which translates to “prosperity will be generated through pure actions.” The institution has 34 postgraduate departments and 406 affiliated colleges. Calicut University Centre for Distance and Online Education was founded in 1981 and has evolved into a major distance education institute. The institute has thousands of students from around the world. It was previously known as the “Institute of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education”.
